Delivery call instructions
Always call the on-call midwife:
- If you don’t feel your baby or you feel your baby less than usual.
- If you have any doubts of fears. In many cases, we can comfort you via phone. If not, we make an appointment for an extra checkup.
Contractions
- If you have contractions or if your water has broken sooner than 37 weeks.
- If you are going to give birth for the first time and you have had contractions the last 1 – 2 hours, they come every 5 minutes and every contraction lasts approximately 1 minute.
- If you have given birth before, your contractions come every 5 minutes and every contraction lasts approximately 1 minute.
Broken water
- If the water is colorless and clear and your baby is engaged into the pelvis, you don’t have to call us at night if your water breaks. You can call us in the morning.
- If your water breaks and you know (based on your last checkup) that your baby is not engaged into the pelvis yet, you call us directly.
- If the water as a green or brown color or if you have doubts about the color, you call us directly.
Blood loss
- If you have clear red blood loos.
- At the end of your pregnancy, you can loose your mucus plug. This often comes with red blood. This is completely normal.

Both teams work at the Joannes Tolliusstraat, both on different days. Here, we work together with other healthcare professionals. You can find the clinic at the end of the stress on your left. When you enter the building, you can take the stairs and tell the assistant that you’re there. Please note that there’s paid parking in this street.
