Pala’s vision

Midwifery clinic in Amersfoort

Involved | Professional | Familiar

Pala stands for involved, professional and familiar care. We consider your ideas, feelings and meaning very important. We take our time to get to know you and we are flexible when it comes to adjusting our care to your wishes. We consider openness in our care as something very important and we really want to get to know you. We help you to make choices and we guide you through this special time in your life.

During our appointments, your questions, thoughts and doubts are very important to us. Open communication is a way to understand each other better. Openness helps us to give you the best care possible. By working this way, we have been offering (future) parents good quality care for years.

In 2018, we started working in two smaller teams. This helps us to improve our care even more.

What we do

Everybody’s welcome in our clinic!

Being pregnant is something very special and exciting. It’s important to be able to ask your questions to experienced midwives who love their jobs. The midwives at Midwifery Clinic Pala have many years of experience in birth care. We guide you through your pregnancy, your delivery and the postnatal period. We ask you how you feel, we give you advice when needed and we answer all your questions. Together, we make sure you get the care you need. During your pregnancy, you will have twelve (more or less) checkups in our clinic. One of us is with you when you give birth to your baby (no matter if you give birth at home or in the hospital). After your baby is born, we visit you approximately four times to see how you and your baby are doing.

Six weeks after your baby is born, we have a last checkup. Of course, your partner is free to visit this appointment as well and the same applies for children, if you have more than one.

We take care of you during a healthy pregnancy, your delivery and your postnatal period. If necessary, we refer you to the hospital of the gynecologist. Depending on your situation and your wishes, seeing the gynecologist can be combined with checkups at our clinic. If there’s no reason to see the gynecologist anymore, we will take over your care again. If you’ve given birth under gynecologist supervision, we take over as soon as you’ve come home.

Our website, as well as the website www.deverloskundige.nl , answers many of your questions.

The name Pala

Before, the clinic was called Midwifery Clinic Bekenstein, but many years ago, Reini started Midwifery Clinic Pala. One year later, Janita entered the clinic. She died in 2001, unexpectedly and very young. Janita’s biological mother called her ‘Pala’, which means ‘my precious gemstone’. The name Pala is a loving memory to this special midwife. In addition, every baby is born as a beautiful little gemstone: vulnerable and precious.

Appointments

Appointments at Pala are possible any workday of the week. Both teams work at both locations. Team Pink sees clients on Tuesdag, Thursdays and Fridays. Team Green sees clients on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The planning of the Centering Pregnancy groups differ per group.

Reviews

To evaluate our care, we ask our clients several times a year to fill in a survey. At Zorgkaart Nederland, you can read reviews about our clinic. This might give you a good impression of how people experience our care. You can leave your own review here.

Quality

All midwives working at Pala are registered at the KNOV Quality Register. Further education followed by our midwives is also registered in this register. This means that we constantly need to further develop ourselves. As a clinic, we are part of ‘coöperatie VIDA’. This is a partnership of midwifery clinics in our region, and VSV VIVA, a partnership with the Meander Hospital and all other parties involved in birth care.

Education

On a regular basis, we supervise interns. We are very passionate about our job and we are happy to train new midwives to make sure midwifery will still be high quality care in the future. By supervising interns, we also stay updated on new developments within the world of birth care. If you don’t want an intern to be involved in your pregnancy, please let us know. Here, you can read more about intern supervision within our clinic.
